Sainz spotted in Melbourne: Ferrari driver’s return imminent?

In Melbourne, the site of this weekend’s Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix, Carlos Sainz has already been spotted. Oliver Bearman will not get another opportunity to compete in Formula 1 next weekend in Australia, despite being permitted to make his debut in Jeddah. Sainz appears to be superior.

Due to the need for surgery, the Spaniard was forced to leave the Formula 1 paddock in Jeddah over the weekend. Although the Ferrari driver had appendicitis, Spain’s Marca had already seen him in Melbourne. He is reportedly moving through the airport with ease and already appears more put together than he did in Jeddah, according to the newspaper.

Sainz must pass FIA test

Sainz will attempt to pass an FIA test on Thursday in order to regain control of the SF-24 during all sessions. A medical delegate from the FIA is required to be present at all times during this test, which will take place at the circuit. The medium claims that Sainz is in Melbourne already at this early hour in order to recuperate from jet lag.

Bearman would compete in Formula 2 if Sainz returned. The British man was permitted to cover for Sainz in Saudi Arabia, but he is a driver there with Prema. Since Formula 2 is also racing in Melbourne this weekend, Bearman could step in again if Sainz fails the test.
